The Canon HDgc KH20x6.4-KRS is a 20x telephoto lens designed for 1/2" CCD XDCAM HD cameras. As HDTV becomes the standard for television broadcasts, more production facilities are looking to originate projects in high definition. A variety of formats have been introduced to fill the gap, including both HDV and XDCAM HD.
Sony's line of XDCAM HD cameras provides a low-cost alternative to the higher priced 2/3" cameras, while still maintaining a familiar ENG/EFP workflow. This lens provides high definition optics which can fully realize the capabilities of high definition, while still being cost effective for lower budget productions.
The KH20x6.4-KRS strikes a perfect balance between performance and portability, equipped with features such as internal focus and shuttle-shot programmable positioning. The focal-length range is 6.4 to 128mm with a minimum object distance of 0.9 meters (3 feet.)
